SEPTEMBER 2021

Welcome to this month’s update on news and happenings around Bundaberg Port Marina.

It has been another busy period here at Bundaberg Port Marina with many vessels heading north for the winter sailing season. Many valued customers return to visit us on their way north each year and we enjoy catching up and sharing what has been happening since their last visit. When it comes time to depart the north we welcome some of these vessels back and some of them will base themselves at Bundaberg Port Marina for the summer and enjoy the many attractions we have in our local area.

Another option for many is to complete all the maintenance required on their vessel while they are here. Our 75t Travelift is available for your lift out and we can complete all work required on your vessel with all trades available in our hardstand facility. If the preferred option is to complete your own work a fully stocked chandlery is available on site for all your materials.

Our dry storage facility is also available for you to store your vessel for the summer months until you return to continue your journey. All vessels are secured in our lock up yard and supported in engineered cradles and pinned to the ground with 2.5 t straps. If you require quotes or more information for any of the options above please contact us on 41595066 or https://www.bundabergportmarina.com.au/contact . Please ask if we have any current specials as they change regularly.

Annually we hold a number of major events at our marina precinct and one of these OCEANFEST 2019 (https://www.oceanfestbundaberg.com.au/) has just been held and I am happy to say it was a resounding success. Over 10000 people enjoyed a day of seafood, entertainment and displays. This number was up considerably from previous years and every year this event is getting bigger and bigger. If you are in our area around the 3rd weekend in August I recommend you come and visit and have a great day out.

The next event is the Go West rally bringing yachts from all over the world to Bundaberg Port Marina. This is a destination rally and departs from New Caledonia and ends at Bundaberg Port Marina. This rally is one of many that John and Leanne Hembrow successfully organise and details on their rallies can be found at https://www.downunderrally.com/. Over 72 yachts cleared into Australia through our International Port of Clearance in 2018. Vessels in this year’s rally will start to arrive around the middle of October and the event is finished off by a week of functions and informative sessions on cruising in Australia. Welcome week celebrations start on Wednesday 6th November and concludes Tuesday 12th November. There are still spots available for this year’s rally and John can be contacted through the website. https://www.downunderrally.com/

That wraps up this month’s newsletter and happy sailing, and hopefully we will see you soon at Bundaberg Port Marina.

One very friendly and accommodating place to spend some time at. All necessary marine facilities onsite or nearby. Courtesy buses to/from city and nearby IGA and pub. Clean, tidy and nicely landscaped facilities make it a 5* marina for us.
