Lady Musgrave Island

Located approximately 52 nautical miles north of Bundaberg Port Marina is Lady Musgrave Island. This World Heritage site is a part of the Southern Great Barrier Reef and is known for its pristine waters and diverse marine life. The island itself takes home to a unique range of flora and fauna, which many visitors are lucky enough to encounter. The lagoon itself is ideal for snorkelling, with water depths ranging from 5m to 9m.

Lady Elliot Island

Lady Elliot Island lies 46 nautical miles northeast of Bundaberg Port Marina and also forms part of the coral cays in the Southern Great Reef. One difference from Lady Musgrave Island is that you need to take a short flight to reach this piece of paradise. Also, Lady Elliot Island has eco accommodations, restaurants, and other facilities. Also known as the “home of the manta ray,” the diversity of marine life you can find here is endless.

1770, Agnes Water

Just north of Bundaberg Port Marina are the coastal towns of 1770 and Agnes Water. Seventeen Seventy (formerly known as The Town of 1770) is a picturesque seaside village surrounded on three sides by the Coral Sea and Bustard Bay. Historic as the second landing site of James Cook and the crew of the Endeavour in May 1770, the area is rich in wildlife and natural beauty and offers scenic vistas in every direction. Agnes Water is Queensland’s northern-most surf beach and is the last in a line of beautiful, unspoilt beaches that sweep up the coast from Bundaberg Both places provide glorious views of the Southern Queensland coast and a glimpse of their rich history

The region is serviced by two commercial airlines, Qantaslink and Alliance Airlines, RFDS, Life Flight, a number of charter operators and flight training organisations. Regular Qantaslink and Alliance Airlines services fly in and out of Bundaberg (connecting to Brisbane) with approximately 38 services per week.
